For over ten years, WSI has been providing environmental education and outdoor recreation to special needs children in the Greater Seattle area. WSI’s awesome efforts on behalf of kids include lots of river time, plus camping, hiking and biking for young people who’ve never experienced these things we paddlers take for granted. Makah Tribe Environmental Science Internship
Our Hoedown Hosts, the Makah Tribe, have partnered with the Northwest Indian College and the National Marine Fisheries Service to provide 4 internships designed to excite Makah youth on opportunities in fisheries and environmental science and to encourage them to pursue a college degree in a related field. What a perfect way for us to say thanks to our hosts and to perpetuate the tradition of pristine water here at the coast.
